And Tonight the Dram is Jura

Sorry, but I just can’t help being cheap.  Maybe I’ve lived in Scotland too long.

But this is a recession, right.

The local store runs a special every month on single malts.  I’m happy to report the special today is Jura.

This isn’t an Islay malt as we might expect from an island off the south west coast.  It doesn’t have that same “in your face” challenge the Islay’s do.

What it does have is the gorgeously thick consistency the Highland malts have.  Every taste is a mouthful of warm comfort, with a slight sting in the tail.

The Highland Malt it comes closest to, in my humble opinion is Dalmore – not quite the full flavor, but similar.

I’m happy to report I really enjoy this one.

Slainte.
